SIM - Mee Hoon Kway!

Hmm... why SIM ? cos its somewhere i visited today! (:
when eating mee hoon kway, the first thing to ensure is that the soup is tasty enough..
in this case, the stall cook has done very well, the soup is always consistent and tasty enough, it does not have the meat-y or dough-y taste that some other soups have. and definately, it does not have an overdose of msg. moreover, with an abundance of minced pork, vegetables and not forgetting the egg ! half cooked to perfection if eaten within like 5 - 10 mins from serving. Also, the auntie gives a huge serving of fried anchovies and fried onions!

not only the generous servings, the price is also very much in check. at $2.50 for a generous portion of mee hoon kway, its no wonder why there's always a queue in front of the stall.

its situated in the SIM FOOD COURT. in the middle, when walked in from either entrances, its prominant and definately not miss-able. (:

cheers! great food! great price!

ISLAND CREAMERY

alrights, first post. As the title suggests, its about island creamery ice-creams and other desserts. The ice-cream there are all made on the premise itself at
Serene Centre.

There are many local flavours which will definately tantalize your taste buds! Local flavours inculde, Chendol, Pulut Hitam, Horlicks, Milo and other flavours such as Soursop, Very Berry, Fresh Banana and so on...

for Chocolate lovers, my reccomendation would be ReversO.. the flavour is a very unique one with a mix of chocolate, Oreo Bits and Chips.

For personal favourite, it would be definately HORLICKS! Rare as it may sound, it has a very "Singapore" feel to it. Difficult to put into words, it is rich by nature, but definately it is pretty difficult to get sick of it easily.

Other Favourite Picks include,

Nutella : Creamy Nutella Bits in ice cream. not very chocolatey, suitable for people who like chocolate but not too much of it. (:

Fresh Banana: Every mouthful is filled with the absoulte taste of bananas and with the rich and creamy feel.

For a double combo, i'd suggest Nutella and Fresh Banana, which i just tried, both tastes complements each other well and one is fruity while the other is more towards chocolatey and a little creamy.

Prices : S$2.50-Single Scoop, S$4.00-Double Scoop, S$8.00-500ml Tub

They have a full-fledged shop at Serene Centre, highly visble from the roads, and another takeaway shop at Great World City Opp Cold Storage.
